It’s that time of year again: planning the holiday “spirits!”
A couple of years ago I found a wonderful, simple recipe in Laura Calder’s lovely cookbook, French Taste. (I cannot recommend Calder’s cookbooks/books enough. Not only are the recipes delicious, her writing is too.)

She calls this recipe “44” because it takes 44 days to make. It’s worth it!
This recipe can be found on the Canadian Food Network’s website:

Note: I use two medium-sized oranges per jar instead of one large one.
Laura was also the star of her own TV show, French Food at Home. It’s been off the air for years now (Boo, hiss!), but her cooking and sensibility won us over in one episode.
The “44” – with a good daily shake of all three jars – will be a nice accompaniment to some of our holiday gift-giving activities. Of course, we will keep our own to warm up with a nip as the season grows colder.
So check out the link above for the recipe – easy and fabulous, all in one!
Great to see you on a blog again hon. Hope all is going great! It is very nice.
Thank you, Mom! 😉
