Just down the road from us, the Geese dine in the farmer’s field,Β fattening themselves on leftover corn. Backsides swinging to and fro, sovereign in the way they saunter across the bent, golden stalks.
I love Geese.
But, farther still down the road, you might be able to grab… a cold beverage? Hmm.

…a Coke Machine?
Well now, isn’t that interesting?
We’ve been driving by that cornfield and Coke machine for several years now. No clue about the story behind its placement. Don’t know if it works, don’t know if a farmer stocks up on pop every summer and fills the machine with sugary refreshments for those long hot days on a tractor. And, I’ll probably never know.
But it makes me smile a bit every time I drive by. π
HA! That is so funny! I’m really curious about the story behind that coke machine. And I’m glad you are getting good use out of your new camera!!
Thanks, Kristin! Weird though, yeah?
Have a Coke and π !
ohhhhhh! I love geese, too! π
There is just something about them that makes me so happy.
and heeheehee about the coke machine.
There’s definitely a story there.
π
I would have liked to have seen / heard that conversation:
Bill, climbing down from the tractor, wiping the sweat from his eyes: I wish I could have a Coke machine right there by the field so on a hot day like this, I can just grab a cold can.
Ted: Oh yeah? We can do that, Bill.
Bill: We can?
Ted, as he gets in his truck: Consider it done.

Reading the updates, enjoying the pictures! Cold and snowy here like everywhere else in NY probably. Good to stay in and stay warm. Blessed to have the nice heat from the living room fireplace stove. I enjoyed some of your wares on my hot dog tonight. It’s a small jar with super good chunky pieces and was sooo good on the hot dog with the mustard, ketchup and onion and served with some baked beans. Love you hon. Enjoy the seed catalogs!
Hi Mom! Definitely stay warm. We’ve had that up and down January temperatures up here. I think we might be back on the up-swing. Hmm, wonder if you had the zucchini chutney or tomato jam on the hot dog? π Glad you enjoyed! Love ya, too!
I see Canada Geese around here but don’t get to see large flocks like this. They’re so lovely!! Whau!! The coke machine in a field looks a bit out of place and disrupts the “nature look” however it’s interesting to see it there.
I always wonder about the story behind the Coke machine – so odd!
We have a lot of geese that come through here – we’re in the Finger Lakes of NY, so that’s probably one reason. Thank you for stopping by, Angela! π
