Most kitchen gadgets are not worth the hype.
We’ve certainly made our share of purchases over the years, experimenting with different kitchen tools and appliances. Some were worth it (Chinois Cone, for example), some were not. But there is one inexpensive kitchen gadget that we bought, loved it because it was so useful, broke, missed, longed for… and purchased again.
The Egg Slicer
Yes, the simple hard-boiled egg slicer.
Used for quickly slicing eggs for breakfasts or chopping and dicing eggs for salads or sandwiches. It’s fast, efficient, and the eggs look so nice.
For under $5.00 purchased online or at one of your local stores (the one pictured here we bought at a local TJ Maxx / HomeGoods store), you can actually get a kitchen gadget that works, is useful, and worth more than your pennies spent. 🙂
We used to have one like this first one below, and it worked great! There are many options out there.

How About You?
What is a “must have” kitchen gadget that has really pleased you over the years? “Bonus points” – harhar – if it’s an inexpensive one!
I actually have lots of favorite kitchen gadgets. But the one I love best but is expensive is my kitchen aid mixer and all the attachments. It makes life easier. Oh. An inexpensive gadget is a potato masher. It comes in very handy all the time!
Hi Kristin! So before I met my husband, I never saw a “by hand” potato masher. I was used to my Mom’s (and then mine) whipped potatoes (with a hand mixer). But my husband can mash those potatoes like no blender! Creamy without a lump. The fact that he typically uses a whole stick of butter probably helps with that! LOL!
